Perhaps my favorite native flowers at the preserve are the white Beardedtonges blooming at our entrance. They are also extremely popular with the bees!

Occurring in bottomland forests, swamps, banks of streams, rivers, sloughs and bottomland prairies, butterweeds are aptly named after their buttery yellow color. Our current economic system depends on infinite gr Our current economic system depends on infinite growth in a finite world, yet this linear economic model cannot support the acceleration of growth forever. From deforestation and strip mining to even our waste stream, environmentalists are asking, “Is there a better way?”

Blue Heron Nature Preserve is pleased to discuss a new model that is emerging throughout the globe called the Circular Economy. This introductory class led by Blue Heron Conservation and Operations Director Denise Cardin will define what it is, companies already involved, and how you can become a part of it.

Register for the Circular Economy presentation and open discussion on Friday, April 22nd Earth Day between 1:30 – 2:30 pm! Link- https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040b45a4a929a2fe3-circular
