Blue Heron offers after-school enrichment programs at a number of schools throughout Atlanta where our expert Blue Heron Naturalist helps children uncover their own curiosities. By spending hands-on time in nature, children will learn to be more empathetic towards living things, as well as build their own scientific understanding of the natural world. Students will have an opportunity to use their STEAM skills to collaborate and problem-solve as they discover, observe and experiment in the outdoors.

At every session, a Blue Heron naturalist will bring an outdoor activity kit full of age-appropriate tools and activities to facilitate your child’s outdoor exploration. This kit will include magnifying lenses, field guides, butterfly nets, buckets and baskets for collecting, and art supplies. Every session will either include an art or science-based activity.

• $14 per child, per 1 hour session
• Ratio is 10 students for every 2 instructors
