Need a consistent group project?
You can become a volunteer at the Blue Heron with our Adopt a Trail program!
Woodland Loop Trail
The Woodland Loop Trail is one of the most well-traveled trails so we are thrilled to have members of the Riverwood National Honor Society help maintain it.
They come out at least once a month to rake and weed the trail, pick up trash, and remove invasive plants growing around it.
Painted Turtle Trail
To maintain the Painted Turtle Trail, Move Well ATL invites families and community members to change the way they think about volunteering.
Even small movements like walking, weeding, and picking up trash can have a big and positive impact on your body and mind. We appreciate the mission of Move Well ATL to encourage activity in every day life.
Beaver Tail Trail
Every month, Blue Heron recruits volunteers from Georgia State University to maintain the Beaver Tail Trail at our Emma Wetlands property.
In addition to the trail maintenance, there is a big focus on invasive plant removal to make sure our wetlands remain a healthy habitat for all creatures.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN BECOMING A VOLUNTEER AT THE BLUE HERON!
Blue Heron staff & board maintain the 30-acres, owned by City of Atlanta, as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit.
