Pollinator Survey & Land Tending Day

Get your hands dirty and contribute to real science! Join us for a special volunteer day at Blue Heron Nature Preserve where you’ll help care for the land and take part in a citizen science project that supports pollinator conservation across Georgia.

We’ll start the day with habitat care—removing invasive plants, tending native areas, and improving our urban greenspace. Then, you’ll participate in the Georgia Pollinator Census, an accessible pollinator survey that empowers everyday people to help track the health of bees, butterflies, wasps, and other essential pollinators. Your observations will directly contribute to statewide efforts to protect these vital species.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to citizen science, you’ll leave the day with new knowledge, new skills, and the satisfaction of making a meaningful difference.

🦋 Ages 16 and up. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm! Be sure to wear long pants, close toed shoes, sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle. Work gloves and tools will be provided, though you are welcome to bring gloves of your own if you prefer.

🎟️ Please RSVP here if you plan to join us!
