Meet the Counselors

Mac Baker

Hi I’m Mac! I have been an Outdoor Educator with Blue Heron for the past year and this will be my second summer as a Camp Counselor. I love exploring outdoors, especially in the creek and hunting for bugs. I also love outdoor sports and arts and crafts. I’m so looking forward to playing outside this summer!

Kym Barrett

My name is Kym Barrett and I am so excited for this summer! I am currently a special education kindergarten teacher. I love to be outside and I am learning more about gardening every day.

Christina Bidot

Hi! I‘m Christina, and I am so excited to be a summer counselor! I have a deep passion for human biology, and I am currently a student at Chattahoochee Tech majoring in Radiography soon to be an X-ray Technician. In my free time I love to be outdoors connecting with nature by running and hiking, especially with my dog. I can’t wait to have a great summer and meet everyone!

Caroline Hall

Hi! My name is Caroline Hall. I am a 23 year-old Aftercare Counselor/Assistant Teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School, as well as a part-time virtual student at GSU. I originally went to Ole Miss- HOTTY TODDY!!! And I am a member of Pi Beta Phi MS Beta — wings up! I love animals, and I have four of my own— 3 cats & a puppy— who are the lights of my life. I’m also very passionate about music, teaching, traveling, and helping people.

Mia Hurts

Hello my name is Mia Hurts and I am a Junior at Emory University, I am majoring in Human Health and Environmental Science. A few of my hobbies include drawing, exploring, and hanging out with my cat carrot. I am excited to be a camp counselor and share my passion for the environment with others.

Claire McGovern

My name is Claire and I am a rising sophomore at Emory studying Biology with a minor in Anthropology. I am from North Carolina, and I love hiking, being outdoors, and trying new restaurants throughout the Southeast. I have also ridden horses my whole life! I am so excited for camp this summer!

Sarah Winer

My name is Sarah and I’m so excited to be spending the summer at Blue Heron! During the school year I study psychology and human development at UGA, but I spend most of my time by the lake on campus. I can’t wait to share my love for the outdoors and create lasting memories with each and every one of you at camp this summer!

Stitch Gulson

Rising 11th grader with a passion for nature and adolescent psychology. I love animals, especially bugs and opossums. I’ve been working with BHNP for 4 years now, and I can’t wait to see everyone this summer!
