join us for a week of outdoor adventures for adults and children!

Take A Child Outside Week is a nationwide celebration of the joys of sharing nature with a child!

Blue Heron Nature Preserve is participating in this event for the first time, and we have many engaging outdoor activities for adults and children. If you want to participate on your own, we suggest:

  • Hiking our trails
  • Having a picnic at one of our picnic tables
  • Drawing or painting the wildlife of Blue Heron
  • Taking a picture of you and your child and sharing with us! Use #BHNPCelebratesTACOWEEK

Need more ideas? Check out all our guided nature activities going on during the week. Read about the events below and mark your calendar. Registration opens for all events on September 5th! We hope to see you and your child at the Preserve!
