SPREAD YOUR WINGS

✨ This Friday, come meet the Artist: Rose M Barr ✨ This Friday, come meet the Artist: Rose M Barron ✨

Art can connect us to the land, to our stories, and to each other—and that’s exactly what Rose M Barron’s work does. Through her pottery and photography, Rose explores the legacy of women from the time when the Muscogee people held the land to today.

One of her most striking pieces, The Water Bearer, captures this spirit: a young woman balancing a water vessel on her head, wading in the creek. As Rose describes it, “She represents both the sacredness of water and the act of giving. Through this work, I hope to create imagery that viewers can relate to and identify with, while offering a sense of place, reverence, and connection.”

This Friday from 11am–2pm, Rose will be at the gallery to share the stories behind her art and showcase a few new works for sale as well. If you missed the exhibition’s opening day celebration, this is your chance to hear from the artist herself, connect with the work, and support both our mission and our community of local creatives.

Despite the dangers of learning how much better produce can taste from a local organic farm, I encourage you to sign up for your share at bhnp.org/produce-csa today. It may turn you into a strawberry snob, but at least it’s healthy! 😄#bhnpatlanta #csa #organicfarming

Art of Nature holds special meaning this year as w Art of Nature holds special meaning this year as we welcome back Nancy Jones, founder of Blue Heron Nature Preserve and this year’s exhibition curator.

Nancy has always seen the land not just for what it is, but for what it holds—stories, spirits, and the quiet wisdom of nature itself. Her work as both artist and curator weaves those elements into a powerful celebration of place, memory, and meaning.

In this year’s show, Nancy’s own pieces appear alongside the artists she’s gathered—together telling a moving story of the land’s history through the powerful women who have tended it across time.

✨ Celebrate her vision at our Opening Day Celebration
