Hands On Atlanta Volunteer Day

It's no April Fool's joke that Oglethorpe students had a blast volunteering at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve this past Saturday on April 1st. As part of the Oglethorpe Day of Service, 20 students from the university came to the Preserve to work on a wide variety of tasks. The two main goals were to help complete aspects of our new Woodlands Field Education Center, which is one in a series of outdoor classroom sites located throughout the Preserve, as well as finish clearing space for an amphibian captive breeding program for the endangered Frosted Flatwoods Salamander led by the Amphibian Foundation. We thank Oglethorpe for their continued and enthusiastic engagement in all things going on at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve.
