With the help from Park Pride, the community garden received materials to install a pollinator garden this past Saturday (4/15/17). Volunteers from the Blue Heron Community Garden as well as some local boy scouts and girl scouts helped plant the new pollinator-friendly native flowers and shrubs. It turned out to be a beautiful spring day, and what better way to celebrate Spring than planting food sources for our increasingly important pollinators? Within minutes of planting we had our first visitor -- a hummingbird moth. Thank you to Park Pride and everyone who came out to support the Blue Heron Nature Preserve and Community Garden!
