Great Blue Herons Description
Blue Heron camps focus on outdoor play and exploration time with other children. Your child will enjoy activities that are focused on outdoor immersion and inquiry based exploration.
Great Blue Herons enjoy the exclusive Paint Box Mystery Camp during six select weeks. Offered to full day campers or as a stand-alone camp.
Times and Prices
Regular Half-Day: 9am - 12PM, $190 for the week
Lunch Bunch Extension: 9am - 1pm, $210 for the week
Regular Full Day: 9AM - 4PM, $375 for the week
Full-Day option is only open to children ages 5 and up
Extended Day Hours (additional fee required): 8:30am - 4:30pm
Paint Box Mystery Art Camp: 1pm - 4pm, open to ages 5-12.
Automatically included in the full-day camp experience, but is also Available as a stand-alone camp.

Summer 2019 Camp Themes
May 28-31st and
Let’s grab shovels, sticks, spoons or anything we can dig with and see what we can find. We’ll dig into the gardens at Blue Heron and see how plants grow, go digging for rocks in the sand, and maybe even dig our own animal burrows!
Beyond the Pond
June 3-7th and
What lives in and beyond the pond? We’ll explore pond and creek life at Blue Heron using nets, buckets, binoculars and an occasional microscope. Seek out beaver and river otter tracks in the sandy banks, or try your hand at catching freshwater clams.
June 10- 14th and
July 29th - August 2nd
Some bugs fly, crawl, jump, run, or do a million amazing things! Explore the world of bugs with us- and discover some things that are bugs, some things that aren’t bugs, and the incredible ways they all live and survive. Our butterfly nets and bug houses are sure to be an important part of this week.
June 17-21st and
We’re going to explore the joys of mud this week. Asking and learning what lives in the mud, can we make different types of mud, how do you build with mud, and more. Our week will end with a Mud Pie Bake Off.

June 24th - 28th and
July 15th - 19th
Let’s go on a nature treasure hunt! We’ll learn outdoor survival skills like shelter building and orienteering, as we seek out the most amazing natural treasures of Blue Heron. We’ll even create our very own treasure maps to take home.
July 1st - 3rd
The natural world is so full of artistic inspiration- come let those creative juices flow. Campers will be able to make their own nature journal, create outdoor art, and sketch live animals.
Most importantly, our campers will create the design for our 2020 summer camp t-shirts!
