Woodland Field education center

The Woodland F.E.C. is located at Land O Lakes and has access to many education opportunities.

Land O Lakes is home to four beehives, maintained by Southeast Beescapes, and the 100% solar powered, off-the-grid research facility: the Field Research Center (FRC). The FRC is used by Blue Heron, The Amphibian Foundation, and the Atlanta Audubon Society.

The Amphibian Foundation utilizes Land O Lakes to store mesocosm. These are large covered tubs that sit outside under the woodland trees. Each mesocosm is a mini ecosystem that is tailored specifically to the endangered Frosted Flatwood Salamander. Research about the progress of this vital project is conducted at the FRC.
