Second Saturday Safari
Now in its fourth year, the Second Saturday Safari Series runs on the second Saturday of the month from August to May, mirroring the scholastic calendar but offering learning experiences not found in your average classroom. The hands-on programming led by experts varies monthly so repeat visitors get a new lesson every time they come to the Preserve.
Unlike most educational programs, the series takes participants outside to explore and happens rain or shine. Admission is just $10 for adults, $5 for children under twelve and free for children under 3. No matter their age, participants learn new things every month and often come back for more. From edible plants to terrific turtles, last season’s line-up was a hit. Read below for details about each month’s safari.
Due to the Series’ success, the Preserve has decided to offer a new perk for families. Starting September 2016, discount package deals are available for purchase for those who register for two or more safaris. With this deal, adult admission is just $8 and children under twelve attend for $4.
The Second Saturday Safari program is going on a summer hiatus. The safaris will return in August. Check back for registration information.
